|Description:||The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is seeking Detail and draw exhibit components and assemblies using Computer Aided Design (CAD) computer system and software and program CNC equipment using Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.|
|Duties:|| Draw exhibit components and parts using SolidWorks CAD software based on existing concept drawings and sketches.|
Program parts for production on a CNC 3-axis mill or router.
Prepare appropriate files and drawings suitable for production and CNC.
Meet with builders and designers to determine most desirable part design for ease of assembly and production.
Estimate work involved in various aspects for assigned projects.
Assure quality documentation for each exhibit is achieved and coordinate the handing off of each exhibit.
Experience and proficiency using SolidWorks for part and assembly design.
Experience and proficiency using MasterCAM (Mill or Router) v9 or higher.
Familiar with wood cabinet construction, exhibit component, and assembly design.
Familiar with general production techniques associated with CNC design and production.
Ability to work on multiple projects in different phases of development.
Strong customer service skills.
Professional communication skills, both written and oral.
Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong time management skills.
Minimum 4 years experience with design for assembly and CNC production methods or equivalent experience and education.
Bachelor's Degree in CAD/CAM or equivalent from a college or technical school, or a minimum of two years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience using SolidWorks and MasterCAM software.
Minimum 1 year of coordination and project management skills.
Minimum 1 year of experience working with the public, formal and informal settings.
